My name is Amanda. I’m a 28-year-old originally from Indianapolis, Indiana.
Once upon a time, as an underemployed university graduate, I booked my first flight to Paris. I had never had a passport before and I was terrified. I had been studying French since I was 11 years old and had always had a knack for it. I was obsessed with the idea that someday, I’d finally get to Paris. There’s even a caricature of me from a random school fundraiser where atop my massive cartoon head sits a black beret; the image made complete by a baguette tucked safely under my arm and the Eiffel Tower looming in the background. Even people around me knew that I was someday bound for Paris.
Suddenly in March of 2012, I was finally going. I immediately fell in love with the city. I’m not kidding, I loved every single bit of it. While on vacation, a job opportunity fell into my lap and just 2 short months later, I moved back and lived in Paris for 15 months. It became clear on that first 10-day international trip that travel was going to become a huge part of my life. At the end of my 15-month stay, I returned to Indianapolis for 2 years, but the city of lights was still calling my name. So, this time with greater difficulty, I moved, once again to Paris and I’ve been here ever since.
Currently, I’m working as an English teacher and translator and doing a billion side projects. Besides travel, I love to bake, read, hang out with my friends, watch movies and craft. This blog is here for you to ask questions, to read about my travels, to see a little bit of the world, or whatever else you want it to be. These are all my original pictures.
